AND ON THE “SIMPLY ORTHODONTICS BERM”

WORCESTER, MA — The Worcester Red Sox have installed a large, new color videoboard on the Worcester Wall in right field that will now enhance the experience for fans on the third base side of the ballpark and on the beautiful left field lawn, to be called the “Simply Orthodontics Berm.” In addition, the club is again capping the number of full season tickets—this year at 2,300 per game—to ensure that all fans have access to all ticket categories.

Single game tickets to Opening Day and April and May are on sale now, and single game tickets for the rest of the season will go on sale in April. Fans who attend games Opening Week will have the first crack at those single game tickets that start in June and continue through September.

The WooSox last year capped their full season tickets at 2,100. Half-season plans, 18-game plans, and 9-game plans are still available, as are Group Outings for parties of 15 or more.

Both 9-game plans and 18-game plans offer a choice of two sets of dates. Fans with mini plans also have the option to transfer their tickets to friends and family if a conflict arises. They can also donate them to the WooSox Foundation.

Fans who attend Opening Week games, Tuesday, April 12 through Friday, April 15, can purchase tickets to June games and thereafter at two locations on the Main Concourse and one on Plymouth Street. Fans can also purchase these tickets upon exit at Gate A at Fallon Health Square or at Gate D at the DCU Plaza.

Starting Saturday, April 16, the Worcester Red Sox Booster Club, presented by Window World and with more than 11,500 members, will have the opportunity to buy single game tickets to all games, and starting Monday, April 18, the general public will have the opportunity.

The large videoboard, 22’ high and 39’ wide, was manufactured by ANC and will provide fans with similar information to the giant board in left field, including player photos, name and number, season statistics, performance in that game, and newsy notes. The board will also have the inning-by-inning score, as well as the count and runs, hits, errors, and the scoring of plays. It also has full color video capability.

“This new videoboard should dramatically enhance the fan experience for so many fans at Polar Park,” said WooSox President Dr. Charles A. Steinberg. “It is clearly visible to fans on the third base side, and is also clearly visible to fans who enjoy Americana on the Berm.

“We are delighted that our beautiful green lawn in left field will be presented by Simply Orthodontics. As the son of an orthodontist, and as a dentist myself, I am aware of the important physiological and cosmetic roles of orthodontia in particular and oral health care in general; our connection is a real and personal one.”

The right field videoboard is just one of a host of unveilings to come in the weeks leading up to Opening Day, as part of “What’s Cool and New in ’22,” a list of improvements, innovations, and additions intended to enhance the fan experience in the second year of the downtown ballpark.

Opening Day is Tuesday, April 12, when the WooSox will battle the Lehigh Valley IronPigs at 3:05 p.m. Pre-game ceremonies will likely begin at 2:15 p.m. Tickets are still available at woosox.com, at the WooSox Ticket Office at 100 Madison St., or by calling (508) 500-8888.
