WORCESTER, MA — WooU, a new student loyalty program, debuts during Opening Week on Thursday, April 14, when the Worcester Red Sox present their first WooU Pre-game Party before battling the Lehigh Valley IronPigs at 6:45 p.m. WooU College Nights provide early entry to Polar Park’s Craft Corner—a prime standing and seating area—among other benefits, all for just $8. Students can visit woosox.com to get their tickets.

WooU College Nights are every home Thursday game. All 12 start at 6:45 p.m., and students can enter at 5:30 p.m., 15 minutes before the public. Jenga Giant, Cornhole, and food and beverage carts are among the amenities at the party. One student will be selected to throw a Ceremonial First Pitch and participate in mid-inning Polar Pong on the field.

Students are encouraged to download the WooU app and sign up for the WooU Student Loyalty Program to receive a student loyalty ID card and lanyard, a subscription to a free monthly WooSox newsletter, and access to interactive benefits. Some benefits include exclusive discounts for WooSox merchandise, ticket opportunities for games, and ticket opportunities for special events. The first 100 students to purchase their $8 ticket and sign up for the cool and new program will receive a limited-edition T-shirt.

In addition, members of the program will receive exclusive networking opportunities with WooSox front office members. For the second year in a row, the WooSox received hundreds of internship applications from college students nationwide. The program gives local students the opportunity to meet with WooSox leaders and learn about the sports business.

Although the pre-game party will be in the Craft Corner, students are encouraged to experience the ballpark’s new and improved WooSox Loop, the 360-degree fan experience that envelopes Polar Park. The WooSox Loop includes access to Plymouth Street’s “Beantown Betty” Duck Boat, presented by Wormtown Brewery. The World War II amphibious craft retired to Worcester after carrying Boston’s greatest sports heroes in championship parades, and now provides an exquisite view of the game from beyond the Simply Orthodontics Berm. In addition, students can congregate at the 8th Hill, a new area designated for socializing beyond the left field videoboard, complete with high top tables and chairs.

“We love that Worcester is a college city, with so many students—local, national, and international—who can enjoy Polar Park as a social gathering place,” said WooSox President Dr. Charles A. Steinberg. “The ballpark was designed to provide venues of social interaction and we hope they resonate with our WooU participants.”

Assumption University is a founding partner of the WooSox, and played the first baseball game at Polar Park in 2021 on “508 Day,” May 8. Holy Cross played the first football game at Polar Park on October 23, 2021.
