Two people have been arrested in Worcester after a passenger in a vehicle fired his gun into the sky
On Saturday morning, police in Worcester detained two males after receiving complaints of a passenger in a vehicle discharging a pistol into the sky.
According to officials, officers rushed to the neighborhood of Maywood Street at 1:15 a.m. on Saturday for a ShotSpotter activation. Police claimed they were notified that a passenger in a white box van was discharging a pistol towards the sky. The description of the van was then broadcast over the radio, and a van matching the description was found on Chandler Street.
According to authorities, two weapons and ammo were discovered in the car. One of the firearms was a loaded pistol, while the other was a pellet gun, according to police.
Taj Wood, 23, of Oxford, was the passenger. According to authorities, he was also in possession of crack cocaine. Wood lacked a permit to carry a handgun.
According to police, the driver, Anthony Sinn, 27, of Worcester, did not have a license to carry a handgun. Wood was charged with possession of a Class B narcotic with the intent to distribute, as well as multiple gun-related crimes. Sinn was charged with illegal weapon storage, possession of a Class B drug with intent to distribute, and Resisting Arrest, both will be arraigned in court.
