The DA's Office reports that a Boston police officer was found dead outside.

The death of a Boston police officer is under investigation after he was discovered outside a Canton home early Saturday morning under blizzard-like conditions, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office.

The BPD officer looked to have been out in the cold for some time before being discovered outside a residence on Fairview Road, according to the DA's office. He was brought to Good Samaritan Hospital and declared dead there.

The cop, subsequently identified as John O'Keefe by Boston police, knew the individuals who lived at the residence where he was discovered, according to the District Attorney's office.
