Rocco's Doughnuts will launch a shop in Worcester on Wednesday.

Rocco's Doughnut Co. will launch a Worcester site on Wednesday, according to owner Joseph Astrella, who verified the news Thursday afternoon.

Millbury is home to the Rocco's flagship shop, with a second branch in Westborough.

Both of these stores opened in 2018 and 2019.

947 West Boylston St. will be home to the Worcester Rocco's.

Astrella had planned to expand to Worcester in 2020, but those plans were shelved owing to the coronavirus, which forced him, like other business owners, to pivot operations to fit new health and safety rules.

Despite the difficulties, he and his team forged on, improving their online purchasing system and keeping their sights set on expansion.

The new shop, which will be serviced by kitchens at the Millbury and Westborough locations, will feature a more modern décor scheme, however the firm wants to renovate the other two locations in the future.

In order to save space and streamline work, Astrella chose not to construct a complete kitchen in Worcester.

The grand launch is set on Wednesday, and there are plans for further growth.
