In Worcester, a car drives on the sidewalk, gravely injuring a guy.




WORCESTER, MASSACHUSETTS — On Monday afternoon, a vehicle sped up on the sidewalk and hit a 51-year-old man, leaving him in severe condition.


Just after 3:30 p.m., Worcester Police went to the vicinity of 150 Pleasant Street for a complaint of a pedestrian collision.


According to early evidence, the victim was walking east on the sidewalk when a gray Subaru Forester drove west on Pleasant Street. The Subaru drove onto the sidewalk, struck the victim, then hit a fire hydrant and a parked car for reasons that are yet unknown.


The Subaru driver remained on the scene but was taken to the hospital.


The sufferer was sent to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.


The cause of the accident is yet unknown.
