A $1.7 million office property in Worcester has been sold to a church.
According to the Worcester South District Registry of Deeds, a 10,000-square-foot office property in Worcester that was partly leased to Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. sold for $1.65 million in a deal that completed Jan. 21.
Douglas Haddad, who runs Hair Systems International with his wife Joan, owned the property at 475 Pleasant St. The hair replacement business was founded by the couple in 1969, and they have been working out of their Pleasant Street premises ever since. On Monday, Haddad was unavailable for comment.
According to real estate database CoStar, Spectrum Health Systems rents 2,500 square feet of the property. It is directly across the street from the Central Massachusetts Health Center of Planned Parenthood.
Ghana Wesley Methodist Church, which is situated at 340 Main St. in Worcester, purchased the office building.
