A Worcester man has been sentenced to more than three years in federal prison.
WORCESTER, MASSACHUSETTS – On weapons-related crimes, a federal court in Worcester sentenced a local man to more than three years in federal prison.
Steven Dillon, 36, of Worcester, was given a 43-month jail term.
On September 27, Dillon pled guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, as well as one count of illegally possessing an unregistered firearm.
Dillon returned to his residence on Christmas night, December 25, 2019, inebriated, according to federal prosecutors.
He approached the youngsters in the flat, then went to his bedroom and got a sawed-off shotgun, which he cocked as he returned toward them.
The teenagers locked themselves in a bedroom and dialed 911.
Dillon was located in the flat, along with the shotgun and ammo, when police arrived.
Dillon is prohibited from owning a handgun because he was previously convicted of a crime punishable by more than one year in jail.
