A special needs teenager is accused of assaulting a Worcester collaborative employee.
After police claim she assaulted a staff member at a Worcester special education school, a student faces criminal charges.
According to the chairman of the school's board of directors, Worcester police were summoned to the Central Massachusetts Academy Wednesday morning after receiving complaints that a 16-year-old girl came in agitated and became physically hostile with a staff member.
EMS treated the victim on the site, and she was brought to a hospital for examination, according to the chairwoman.
The 16-year-old allegedly used her foot in the attack, according to police.
She has been charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon, as well as malicious destruction of property.
Students from Worcester, Webster, and Oxford attend the Central Massachusetts Academy, which offers educational, clinical, and therapeutic services.
